Learn the Lesson That You Are Purposed to Teach
How many of you feel like you are in a season of testing? Maybe trials and situations are getting the best of you and you can’t figure out why. Well I just want to let you know that these challenging situations aren’t coincidences. They are preparation. What do I mean by that? Well let me explain.
During this past summer, I was in the driest season ever. I was truly stuck in a funk. Alone in a new city, I was suffering from loneliness, discontentment, and jealously. These feelings were holding me captive walking in my calling, but honestly, I couldn’t shake these feelings. I found myself suffering from jealousy and comparison, emotions that I rarely struggled with. At that moment I had to ask God, "Why am I dealing with these emotions?"
In life you will learn that you will experience emotions and go through tests that will shape and develop you into the person you were made to be. These tests are preparing you for your purpose. Although you may want to fast forward to your perfect season, you must go through the process and learn what is required for you to get to the next level.
Remember when you were in elementary school? When you first entered Kindergarten, you had to learn the basics like how to spell your name, your phone number, and your address. These things were developing you for what was to come. You weren’t thinking back then how important it was to learn how to spell you name. You were only interested in play and of course, snack time. Although Kindergarten was a great time to play and build friendships, the whole objective was for you to learn your lessons so you could move on to the next grade.
This is exactly what happens when you are walking in your purpose. To be what you were called to be, it is imperative that you learn the lesson that you were meant to teach. You cannot move forward to the next level until you are equipped and prepared to handle whatever may come your way during the next season. You can't cheat or shortcut your way through. Just like if you got caught cheating in school, cheating your way through the lesson may either slow down or hinder your process. You have to learn the lesson that you are purposed to teach. Stop trying to skip a grade! Yes, the next season may present itself as more exciting or more prosperous, but you have to grow where you are planted.

God had refined my character and taught me through that season that I could not microwave the process. I had to learn how to deal with those feelings of discontentment and jealousy so I could coach and help someone else through it. I had to pass my test before God could appoint me to help others. I'm not saying that this season will be easy, but there is nothing more gratifying than learning the lesson, passing the test, and graduating to the next level where you are fully bloomed and walking in your purpose.
