I didn’t start playing the comparison game regularly until after college. I remember eagerly moving to North Carolina with all these dreams and expectations. Expectations of finding a successful new job, financial stability, and maybe even a shiny, new engagement ring.

I’ve always loved all things concerning women. From the time I was young, I would immerse myself in fashion magazines and all things fashion and beauty. I was enthralled by the inner and outer beauty we possessed.

I’ll never forget the summer of 2015 when God revealed to me my purpose. It was right after I graduated from Howard University, I moved to North Carolina to begin my Master’s program at UNC at Greensboro.

What comes to mind when you think of what your God-given purpose may be? Do you think your purpose is about pursuing a certain career? Being a stay-at-home wife or mom? Or maybe living a successful, worry-free life?

Doing everything you know to do to uncover your purpose but still no luck? It’s not easy to discover your God-given purpose. (If it were you would know by it now and everyone else would too)!

Do you know your God-given calling but are having a hard time determining how you should carry it out? You’re not alone. We all have a unique, individual purpose with so many ways we can go about pursuing it. But with so many gifts, talents, and passions it can be hard to determine what’s best to pursue.

When the Lord called me, I knew it was a calling because He called me to something very specific. I had a blog at that time that I felt called to pick back up after two years, and one day as I was sitting on the couch I remember Him saying "Google the word 'life coach'."

Before I understood what purpose was, I thought purpose was all about a job role or a career. I thought that my purpose was to be some sort of career woman and to do whatever in life made me happy.

What comes to mind as you think of walking in your purpose? Do you think of living a perfect life? A life where you’re doing what you love and nothing can possibly go wrong? A life where your friends and family rally around to champion you and cheer you on in your purpose?
