Sasha Frank is #FearfullyFashioned
Sasha Frank is #FearfullyFashioned. As a blogger and singer/songwriter she uses her platform to showcase style, music, inspiration, and her story. Having to let go of control and place her goals in God’s hands, Sasha had to step outside of her comfort zone and trust God's direction for her life.
Through her life experiences, she had to learn how to take control of her own story by silencing others and embracing her authenticity. Often faced with tough decisions, by God's grace, she was able to walk away from the familiar and plunge herself into God's purpose and plan for her life. It's Sasha's courage and faith that fuels the pursuit of her God-given vision & purpose. That is what makes her #FearfullyFashioned.
What is your God-given purpose and how are you currently living it out?
It has taken me a long time to allow myself to believe in the impossible-- to believe that the vision that God has put in my heart was something worth going after. We’re always told that we should have a backup plan, or pursue a career that society deems as acceptable. I have a God-given talent of artistry (i.e., singer-songwriter and writer). For the past 1.5 years, I decided to go back to school to hone my craft. I have completed my first EP entitled ‘Introducing Sasha Frank’ which will be released in October. Lastly, I started a woman’s based website and have been using my God-given talents of writing to serve the community.
What is one of the biggest challenges you had to overcome to pursue your God-given purpose and goals?
Doubt. Again, you hear comments that aren’t always positive. Not to mention, these comments sometimes coming from the ones that you love as well as those you don’t even know. And don’t forget the social pressures of going after a master’s degree, becoming a lawyer or doctor. I’ve had to give up a lot, isolate myself from the life that I once knew, and continue surrendering myself to God.
What is your definition of success and stance on failure?
Honestly, my definition of success has changed drastically over the last couple of years. I used to think that going after things that provided financial gain would make me happy. Instead, I found that I was just chasing the wind. If you are money hungry or in need of “flashy things,” you will soon find out that all of that will NEVER fill the void inside of you. None of this will fulfill you; however, it will magnify your weakness and where you need to heal. Success to me is to be able to live life using your God-given talents to make a difference. That kind of success is what I am striving for. I want God to be able to use me as a vessel and spread His love throughout the world.
"Success is being able to live life using your God-given talents to make a difference."

If you could go back in time, what is one piece of advice that you would give to yourself?
Don’t doubt yourself. Don’t allow others to make you feel small, because your opinions are just as good. Lastly, don’t ever change your standards for anyone. Mr. Right is a man who is whole, knows how to lead and would NEVER allow you to feel as though you need to forget about your morals. It's okay if your time takes longer than most, because God is preparing you for something amazing. Everyone has to go through the pruning season, and if you want something that will last, wait patiently. So, enjoy the journey and grow into the person you were meant to be.
What is one of your major characteristics that has contributed to where you are right now?
Well, I’ve been told no so many times; it doesn’t really phase me as much anymore. I feel as though all the no’s that I have gotten up until now have truly toughened my skin. I’ve learned that if it's a no, it wasn’t meant for me! God protects us, and He knows exactly what He is doing. In elementary school, I remember trying out for a part in the school play. I was so shy; however, for the tryouts I was so bold. I remember my teacher being in awe. She said, "Wow, Sasha. I’ve never seen you this way!” At the end, I didn’t get the part. All my friends did. I remember feeling sad. It was one of my first rejections and one of the many no’s I was to receive. In that situation, I learned to keep moving and not to dwell on that moment. I’ve learned to continue working hard and not let a no deter me.
What is your go-to bible verse that keeps you going?
"But when he became powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall."
- 2 Chronicles 26:16
[...] Unless your faith is firm, I cannot make you stand firm.
- Isaiah 7:9
Mantra or words to live by.
“Don’t let your current circumstances determine your outcome.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PERSONAL OR SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT BOOK/BLOG?
I don't read too many blogs. Because of school and other things, I can easily get distracted. However, the best book ever is the Bible.
DEFINE WHAT "FASHION YOUR LIFE” MEANS TO YOU.
Fashion your life is to create a life according to the vision God has placed in your heart.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO WOMEN WHO ARE ALSO LOOKING TO FASHION THEIR LIFE ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL AND PURPOSE?
Don’t let the negative voices cloud your thoughts. Don’t allow desperate moments make you turn to the very thing God delivered you from. Don’t feed into temptations in your darkest hours and in your greatest moments. They say to look to God in your darkest hours; however, remember it is just as important to look to Him when things are going well.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE #FEARFULLYFASHIONED?
It means to not waiver at the sight of obstacles. Yes, things may not go as planned; however, we have to remember it is not us working the miracle. It is God’s work. Fearfully Fashioned is being a servant and allowing all the glory to go to Him. At times, we take the credit and begin to think we did things in our power. We can’t do anything in our power alone.
